PLNL recognizes it corporate responsibility and genuine obligation to the bordering communities in which it operates and from which it benefits.

This sense of responsibility is most paramount as it pertains to Environment and Safety.

As such, PLNL maintains open lines of communication with community groups and representatives, mindful always of any concerns, and so conduct its environmental, safety and corporate community relations matters to become and remain a neighbour-of-choice in the community.

World Environment Day

Safety, Health and Environmental Conservation are included in both PLNL’s Mission Statement and Values because as a Company we are committed to not only maintaining the environment but where possible we strive to make it even better than it was before our occupation of the site.

To this end, every year management and members of staff celebrate World Environment Day, June 05 in various ways. In 2012 we distributed plants to every employee to encourage the planting of trees and ultimately soil conservation. In the same year along with members of the Diatonic Steelband of Siparia, we cleaned up forty (40) bags of trash from the mangrove area that abuts our plant and the Gulf of Paria to the west.

In 2013 plants were again distributed, not only trees but seasonings were included to urge employees to get involved in making a kitchen garden at home.
